Ellie Jane Goulding born 30th December, 1986 in Hereford England. Her mother Tracey Goulding Summers worked in the supermarket, while her dad Arthur Goulding was a member of an undertaker family. Goulding's older sister Isabel, and second sister Jordan are all siblings. Alex is her brother. Alex is her brother's younger. Alex plays the guitar. Alex also is part of a Hereford-based band. When she was young, her mom encouraged her to become an artist. At the age of 9 when she began learning the clarinet. When she was 14 years old she began to write lyrics. She wasn't committed to songwriting until she entered college. Goulding's interest in electronica music began while she was pursuing her education. Her interest in electronic music was first noticed as she was studying. Through MySpace Goulding came into contacts with Frankmusik. He helped her in creating a folktronica style of music. Jamie Lillywhite found her at this time. She started as her manager, and later turned into A.&R. for a university talent contest. Lillywhite then introduced her to Starsmith an artist producer who assisted with the November 15th publication of her album Under The Sheets. Her next project was the album Lights. Despite their release of Under the Sheets through the independent label Neon Gold Records she was already contracted to Polydor Records. Crawford grew up with three siblings and she is of German English and French descent. Her first modeling gig occurred during her senior year in high school.
